This project consisted of resurfacing, restoration, and rehabilitation of NW/NE 81st and 82nd Street which is the secondary leg of SR-934 (2.32 miles) and is one of the major arterials linking the coastal barrier islands to Miami-Dade County. This project includes milling, resurfacing and safety improvements of SR-934 a 2.32 mile 2 –lane urban arterial with on street parking on both sides. This corridor is located within the limits of unincorporated Miami-Dade County and the City of Miami.   Lakes Engineering, Inc. personnel provided the Florida Department of Transportation with design services for the resurfacing, restoration, and rehabilitation SR 934/NW/NE 81st Street. Lakes also provided plans for pavement design, drainage design, MOT/TCP, signing/pavement markings, signalization and pedestrian sidewalks, ramps, signals, crosswalks, pedestrian crossing over the railroad, island for pedestrian refuge, all designed in limited R/W and constrained urban environment. Also responsible for post-design services and coordination during the construction phase. Also responsible for all post-design services and coordination during the construction phase project.  Post design and revisions included roadway, drainage, and signing and pavement marking plans. Post design services included responding to RFI’s, performing field reviews, conflict resolution, out of tolerance construction solutions, attending progress meetings and producing plan revisions. Project was federally funded.
